View (from property/room) in Travelodge Hotel Wellington

Location was excellent. Although the street address is given as Gilmer Terrace, the best pedestrian (and taxi delivery) access is via the Plimmer Steps from Lambton Quay in Central Wellington. Up the moving escalator (or stairs in the evening) there is a first floor entry point to the Travelodge, with Reception on level 7 by lift. I believe there was a carpark for those arriving by car, but Airport Express stops very close to the Plimmer Steps for those without a car. The restaurant/ dining room is on level 6 and offers a conservatory-style table area which is very attractive. Food for breakfast was excellent, with a wide range of continental breakfast fruits. Staff very willing to hold bags after check-out, to allow for travel on evening flights. Room of good size with net and opaque curtains and window access to outside air, despite being on 11th floor.

Breakfast in Travelodge Hotel Wellington

This was an incredibly good hotel for the money. My partner and I appreciated the fact that we both had a place to put our open suitcases, as we are on a 3-month trip, and don’t want to be unpacking and packing up all the time. We also liked the kitchenette, as we had breakfast in the room each day. The bathroom had plenty of room for everything we used. The location of the hotel was fabulous—close to everything.

This is a nice central hotel right on the Plummer steps. When I contacted staff to say we needed an accessible room they were very clued up and immediately told me about the steps, so we were ready for the fact that with a mobility scooter we would have to go a long way round to get to Lambton Quay. I hadn’t quite appreciated just how far round it would be but that’s probably more to do with the speed of the driver than anything else. The hotel itself is great for mobility access, and you can park in an adjoining car park (extra cost). If you use the steps you’re in central Wellington, museum, cable car etc. in no time. The breakfast buffet is good, and it’s a pleasant dining room. The rooms are comfortable, sometimes a little cramped but toiletries etc are provided and they are very clean. Staff friendly and helpful.

Property building in Travelodge Hotel Wellington

The staff were very helpful both on the phone and in person. It was extremely clean. Despite the run down (due to age) appearance I felt very confident using the room without wiping everything down with disinfectant wipes. I travel multiple days a week for work and this was one of the cleanest hotels I’ve stayed at. The location is fantastic. The room was very big and it had a microwave.

Spa and wellness centre/facilities in Travelodge Hotel Wellington

We had flown overnight, arriving at 9.30am. Staff member kindly found us a room that we could occupy immediately instead of having to wait for usual 3pm check-in. Spacious room. Great water pressure in shower. Very comfortable bed. Very clean. Great location straight into main City and a few minutes walk to supermarket.

The hotel was well located with entrances/exits between Lambton Quay and the Terrace. There is a card key system which ensures extra security. The restaurant on the 6th floor os great for a meal or for winding down during happy hour (5pm-6pm everyday). The room is spacious, clean and even offers a view of the waterfront on the top floors. The room is equipped with a microwave and a kettle and a fridge and even crockery and cutlery so you can have your own supermarket meal on the table in the room. A comfy, spacious room which made me feel comfortable away from home. Luggage storage can be accommodated at the reception.

Lobby or reception in Travelodge Hotel Wellington

The cooked breakfast is definitely in the top 3 out of the hotels I have stayed at in the capital. The fitness room was satisfactory, noting it contained one rowing machine, a couple of treadmills, stationary bikes, some light weights, medicine balls, and a water station. The hotel room heating / aircon was effective and comfortable. The city harbour views were nice.

Spa and wellness centre/facilities in Travelodge Hotel Wellington

The Travelodge in Wellington is easy to access from the motorway and easy to exit. The parking is easy and convenient. The location is great. Just a few steps down into the main street of Wellington. The staff are helpful and friendly. There are many places to eat within easy walking distance. The cable car is about 100 meters away on the main street and on a fine day it is great to go up in the morning for breakfast at the eatery. Great food and great views. The accommodation is always clean and is great value for money.

We had an awesome stay at this hotel! Parking was easy to access, and the staff were lovely and welcoming, providing clear instructions for parking and room access. Our room was well-equipped with a microwave and mini fridge, and the windows allowed for great ventilation and fresh air. Everything was clean and comfortable, and the cleaning staff were also friendly. The hotel is in a fantastic location, with retail shops and restaurants nearby for dining and shopping.
