Location was excellent. Although the street address is given as Gilmer Terrace, the best pedestrian (and taxi delivery) access is via the Plimmer Steps from Lambton Quay in Central Wellington. Up the moving escalator (or stairs in the evening) there is a first floor entry point to the Travelodge, with Reception on level 7 by lift. I believe there was a carpark for those arriving by car, but Airport Express stops very close to the Plimmer Steps for those without a car. The restaurant/ dining room is on level 6 and offers a conservatory-style table area which is very attractive. Food for breakfast was excellent, with a wide range of continental breakfast fruits. Staff very willing to hold bags after check-out, to allow for travel on evening flights. Room of good size with net and opaque curtains and window access to outside air, despite being on 11th floor.

The hotel was well located with entrances/exits between Lambton Quay and the Terrace. There is a card key system which ensures extra security. The restaurant on the 6th floor os great for a meal or for winding down during happy hour (5pm-6pm everyday). The room is spacious, clean and even offers a view of the waterfront on the top floors. The room is equipped with a microwave and a kettle and a fridge and even crockery and cutlery so you can have your own supermarket meal on the table in the room. A comfy, spacious room which made me feel comfortable away from home. Luggage storage can be accommodated at the reception.

We had an awesome stay at this hotel! Parking was easy to access, and the staff were lovely and welcoming, providing clear instructions for parking and room access. Our room was well-equipped with a microwave and mini fridge, and the windows allowed for great ventilation and fresh air. Everything was clean and comfortable, and the cleaning staff were also friendly. The hotel is in a fantastic location, with retail shops and restaurants nearby for dining and shopping.

This was an incredibly good hotel for the money. My partner and I appreciated the fact that we both had a place to put our open suitcases, as we are on a 3-month trip, and don’t want to be unpacking and packing up all the time. We also liked the kitchenette, as we had breakfast in the room each day. The bathroom had plenty of room for everything we used. The location of the hotel was fabulous—close to everything.

Sandra

The staff were very helpful both on the phone and in person. It was extremely clean. Despite the run down (due to age) appearance I felt very confident using the room without wiping everything down with disinfectant wipes. I travel multiple days a week for work and this was one of the cleanest hotels I’ve stayed at. The location is fantastic. The room was very big and it had a microwave.
